Managing grief can be extremely difficult, but please know that you do not have to do that alone. This is a time for all of us to come together to support one another. We have requested the support of the Traumatic Loss Coalition, who will be providing counseling to our staff and students in the upcoming weeks and months.
We will have a Grief Counselor from the TLC at the school Tuesday, August 13th (NEW DATE), from 12:30-3:30pm.
We will have additional times for counseling available, so please be sure to request it through the Administration. We will also have grief counselors here at the start of the school year.
For any staff or student, who may need additional support at this time, please know that you are not alone. Our UACHS community is here for you in any way that you need. To honor such an important life and loss, it is a time for all of us to come together and support each other.
The following community resources are available as well, should you need it:
• 988 Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988. Chat available at 988lifeline.org
• 2NDFLOOR: The Youth Helpline of New Jersey. Call or text 888-222-2228
A crisis line is a service that provides free, confidential support and resources for people in emotional distress. The service is provided by a trained crisis counselor on the phone and in some cases by text and/or chat. You can call or text for help with someone you’re worried about or for yourself.
If you need additional support or guidance at this time, please contact a member of our Administrative Team:
Mr. Erie Lugo - [email protected]
Ms. Michele Bruce - [email protected]
Mrs. Garcia-Newton - [email protected]

In honor of "Coach C" and the incredible impact he has made at UACHS on so many lives, please take this time to check in on one another and continue to look after the Cureton-Collins family with your love and support.
Sincerely,
UACHS Administration
