Dear Parents and Students,
 
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility, and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience this upcoming year.
 
I believe that parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success.  Please feel free to communicate through my website, telephone calls, emails, report cards, and parent-teacher conferences.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Schoology (W/A) – website/app where students can access assignments and updates, and even complete and submit assignments, for many of their classes. https://uachs.schoology.com/

 

Google Classroom (W/A) – website/app where students can access assignments and updates, and even complete and submit assignments, for many of their classes. https://classroom.google.com (Students must log in with their uachs.org email address.)

 

READING/LITERACY

iXL (W) – website where can students access practice and achieve mastery in particular reading/literacy skills. Teachers may assign particular modules for students to complete. https://www.ixl.com/signin/universityacad

 

BookShare (W) – library of ebooks and audiobooks available for classified students. Most books are available, but they have to be added to our library before a student can access them. See Ms. Chenelle to add books to our library. See Ms. Terry to check if a student has an account or if a student qualifies for one. http://www.bookshare.org

 

Newsela (W/A) – a resource for current events articles, updated daily. Articles are available in a range of reading levels and in Spanish and are accompanied by multiple-choice and open-ended comprehension questions. Students can also highlight and annotate the articles as they read. https://newsela.com/

 

OverDrive (W/A) – library of ebooks and audiobooks for all students, faculty, and staff. Most books in the English curriculum and a wide range of young adult literature and contemporary nonfiction are available, including many audiobooks as well. MATH

SavvasRealize (W) – math textbook and supplementary instruction and practice materials for Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Math teachers often assign materials in SavvasRealize (previously PearsonRealize) as classwork or homework. Students can access PearsonRealize both at school and at home from any device with internet access. https://www.savvasrealize.com

ThatQuiz.org (W) – a website that will quiz students on math skills and keep a running tally of how many correct/incorrect answers are given. https://www.thatquiz.org/

 

Khan Academy (W/A) – videos, interactive lessons, and practice problems for topics in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, and Calculus. https://www.khanacademy.org/
